Spring Fling 2011

Spring Fling was held on May 10, 2011 at Cambria Township Recreation Park in Revloc Pennsylvania.  Eight school districts attended and they included Blacklick High School, Blairsville High School, Conemaugh Valley High School, Harmony High School, Glendale High School, Marion Center High School, Portage Area High School, and Saltsburg High School.  Approximately 400 students grades 10 through 12 enjoyed a day of drug free activities.

Activities included volleyball, basketball, softball, Frisbee, horseshoes, karaoke, and board/card games.  Students were provided with a drug free tee shirt, wristbands, food, and drinks.  Each school received a plaque recognizing their prevention efforts for the school year.

All students who attended are members of the Remembering ADAM Volunteer Screening Program. The school adopted the program within their districts and the program runs each day throughout the school year.  Each student who joins signs a "pledge" to be tobacco, alcohol, and other drug free.  Throughout the year students are randomly selected to be drug screened.

Spring Fling is a day of celebration for all of these students who are making the healthy decision to live a drug free lifestyle.  These students are making a difference within their school districts, families, friends, and communities.
